MOUNTAINS THAT WE’LL CONQUER

BUCEGI MOUNTAINS

The Bucegi Mountains are located in central Romania, south of the city of Brasov. They are part of the Southern Carpathians group of the Carpathian Mountains. The Bucegi is believed to be the Dacian holy mountain Kogainon, on which the God Zalmoxis resided in a cave.

At a higher elevation is the Bucegi Plateau, where wind and rain have turned the rocks into spectacular figures such as the Sphinx and Babele. Also, the highest peak of the Bucegi Mountains and one of the highest points in Romania is Varful Omu (The Man Peak), easily accessible by various trails and a main attraction for true mountaineers during the summer season.

FĂGĂRAȘ MOUNTAINS

The Fagaras Mountains makes the highest section of the Transylvanian Alps (Southern Carpathian Mountains), in south-central Romania, whose steep northern face rises above 2,450 meters and overlooks the Fagaras Depression.

The Fagaras Mountains are a very popular hiking, trekking and skiing destination in Romania. In the vicinity of the Negoiu, and in the central part of the band take the rocky nature of the mountains, and reaching the main ridge trail there are technical difficulties and exposure. Somewhat difficult part of the trail is a “Three steps from the death” running the main ridge by ridge Custura Arpaşului the lake (in Romanian Lacul) Capra (2230 m).
